Visit to the “Kinderinsel” Preschool - Little Researchers on a Big Discovery Journey
05/26/2026
On May 26, 2026, the “Kinderinsel” kindergarten visited BayBatt and our chair at with 17 children from the “Sonnenkäfer” group. Together with Prof. Dr. Matteo Bianchini (Chair of Inorganic Active Materials for Electrochemical Energy Storage), the young researchers learned about a wide variety of chemical processes through various experiments, accompanied by explanations tailored to their age group. The children were able to actively assist us in hands-on experiments, dyeing roses, building lemon batteries, and making rainbows. They also learned the secrets of Spider-Man’s webs through the production of nylon and marvelled at the frozen flowers created using liquid nitrogen.
We would like to thank the kindergarten for their visit and also thank the Chair of Inorganic Active Materials for Electrochemical Energy Storage for their collaboration.
