Research

We are interested in the real structures of battery materials and heterogeneous catalysts, as well as the structural changes that occur during testing. We track the structural evolution of solid-gas, solid-liquid, and solid-solid interfaces in operando experiments to identify and isolate structures that are crucial for the activation and deactivation of the functional material. This way we are able to establish realistic structure-property relationships, which can be used to design novel materials with improved performance and lifetime.
